Beamz Interactive Music System is an inclusive tool that enables users of any age, physical or cognitive ability the opportunity to interact with music.

By using our universally designed laser controller or access methods, users can have instant access to hundreds of musical instruments, sound effects and songs.

The Beamz is an interactive music system, allowing you to play impressive music easily and quickly and its great fun. The Beamz uses a series of musical building blocks that are always in tune with each other.

It uses four low level laser light beams which you play like you might play the strings on an instrument. You break the light beam with your hand or fingers. You can play it one note at a time or you can block the beam with your hand to play a riff or series of notes.

Using our Beamz Player software you can build amazing songs with a variety of instruments, samples and melodies.

The nature of Beamz, along with its universal design, makes it appropriate for an extensive number of disabilities. That said, many disabilities present similar characteristics; like limited mobility, cognitive or intellectual impairments, communicative disorders and so on.

Here is a list of the disabilities of which we are currently serving;

  • Visual Impairments
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Intellectual Disabilities
  • Autism
  • Rett
  • Asperger’s
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Down Syndrome

Interactive Whiteboards & Touchscreens

Beamz software interface is a near replication of the Beamz laser controller. Players can activate lasers and function buttons by touching the lasers and buttons on the screens of touchscreen enabled devices–laptops, tablets, iOS devices and interactive whiteboards.

Eye Gaze

Full Eye Gaze compatibility. Beamz provides a choice of beam widths increasing  the "target" area of the display for a more comfortable experience for users interacting with Eye Gaze solutions.

Keyboards & Alternative Keyboards

All twelve instruments sounds, page swapping and rhythm track activation have correlating key equivalents. This enables players to use standard and adaptive keyboards.

Head Pointers

A head pointer is a great “low tech” method for playing the laser controller. In fact, you can use any object to interrupt the lasers—heads, toes, and even feathers!

Interfaces, Switches & Mouse Alternatives

Make Beamz switch accessible by connecting a programmable switch interface. Programmable interfaces allow you to pair key commands to specified jack ports. You can then plug in multiple switches for activating instruments sounds, page swapping and rhythm track start/stop.

The number of switches is dependent on how many ports are provided on the particular interface device you’re using—the number of jacks vary from model to model.
